These Terms govern your use of ScoutVenture. By using ScoutVenture, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge the risks described in the Safety Disclaimer.
1. Eligibility
ScoutVenture is intended for users age 16 and older. By using ScoutVenture or creating an account, you confirm that you are at least 16 years old.
2. Outdoor activity risks
Hiking, camping, fishing, kayaking, remote travel, and other outdoor activities involve inherent and potentially serious risks. Conditions may include severe weather, unstable terrain, wildlife, water hazards, wildfire, poor visibility, road hazards, isolation, injury, illness, and limited access to emergency assistance.
3. Your responsibility
You are responsible for deciding whether an activity, destination, route, weather condition, or piece of equipment is appropriate for you and your group.
You are also responsible for permits, licenses, closures, local laws, fishing regulations, access restrictions, private-property boundaries, and other applicable requirements.
4. Information may change
Trails, roads, access, closures, weather, regulations, water conditions, facilities, prices, and other information can change without notice. Critical information should be verified with the relevant official authority before and during a trip.
5. Maps, GPS and location
Maps and GPS information may be inaccurate, incomplete, delayed, or unavailable. Do not rely on ScoutVenture as your only navigation method. Carry appropriate navigation tools and know how to use them when conditions or remoteness require it.
6. Weather and gear
Weather forecasts and gear recommendations are planning aids only. They do not guarantee safe conditions or that any equipment will be sufficient for a particular trip.
7. Not an emergency service
ScoutVenture is not an emergency service and does not replace emergency communications, professional instruction, medical advice, rescue services, local authorities, or your own judgment.
8. Third-party services and affiliate links
ScoutVenture may link to third-party retailers, accommodation providers, booking services, maps, government sites, and other external services. Those providers operate under their own terms and privacy practices.
ScoutVenture may earn a commission from qualifying purchases or bookings made through some affiliate links.
9. ScoutVenture+ subscriptions
ScoutVenture+ subscriptions are billed through the applicable app store. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled through that store before renewal. Pricing, billing, cancellation, refunds, and payment processing are governed by the store through which the subscription was purchased.
Deleting a ScoutVenture account does not automatically cancel an active app-store subscription.
10. Disclaimer and limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, ScoutVenture is provided on an as-is and as-available basis without guarantees that information will always be accurate, complete, current, or available.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ScoutVenture and its operator are not liable for losses, injuries, damages, or expenses resulting from outdoor conditions, user decisions, reliance on app information, third-party services, connectivity failures, or map and GPS errors.
11. Changes
These Terms may be updated when ScoutVenture or applicable legal requirements change. Material changes may require review and acceptance of a new legal version before continued use.
